About the role
Community Visitors are the eyes and ears of the community and perform an important role
of upholding the human rights of people with a cognitive disability and/or
mental illness who are living in supported care.
They monitor and report on the adequacy of services being provided to
residents/patients. Community Visitors also talk to residents/patients to identify issues of concern and write a brief report at the conclusion of the visit.
Access to your own transport to get to visits is required.
(Travel expenses are reimbursed).
Training for this role is provided.
This is a challenging and rewarding role which is a formal Victorian Governor-in-Council
appointment. A minimum 2 year commitment to this role is required. (Breaks/holidays/leave can be taken during this period.)
